Talking

Started with PADI (12 years ago) as they were based over the road from my office, solicited myself around a few other PADI dive centres and dabbled in a TDI course.

Now I make my own qualifications up. As I can't be bothered with any agency.

PADI-trained in the UK by dear old Doug of Aquanauts.

Do 99% of my diving with a DIR diver, so my kit and dive style resemble his (mainly 'cos I use all his stuff).

Actually would be interesting to see what the split of Blue / Green water PADI trained divers would have been...
FFS, it's easy to learn in the UK ........... it's like learning with blinkers or stabilizing wheels. Try learning in clear water where you can see all the sharp, pointy, poisonous and deep things!

British trained divers?

I have voted other because my OW was SSI. I then did Padi up to Rescue and, if only I had even got around to doing the snorkling bit, I would have had a DM.

The other half has Naui up to Advance Rescue.

As an AOW I did join a BSAC club who said that Padi wasn't a dive qualification and made me do the Club Diver from scratch. This time I was a tables lecture short of qualifying before I finally concluded that they were a drinking club and not a diving club. The only time I ever knew anyone go into the sea resulted in an argument over who was least pis*ed and had to take the trainees in.

Daniel

Good God, you mean you never think for yourself and do as you're told? Gasp. I'd heard about women like that but I never knew ............ just what every bloke wants. No wonder Paul is a very happy chappy.
