I started with a BSAC club at Uni in 1979 and even then we knew that PADI lot were a load of yank wankers who couldn't even buddy breath so they adopted the octopus rig to allow for their crap level of training. What a bunch of soft c-cks. That's all I knew about PADI, oh...and that PADI and all the dive shops in the States were up each others ar5es, selling easy courses that no one failed to ensure that they all bought lots of shiney exxy new kit from the shop they trained with, cos PADI said they had to.

Happy now Finless?

Yeah but taking up diving just to impress the new boyfriend is a bit of pathetic, even if you do nick half his gear as payback.

Well ..... yes ...... but that's not the dead 'ard and tough as nails PADI training regime I went through. Easy? Pah.

If anyone had attempted any bottom activity with me they'd have received a jolly good thrashing .............. unless that turned them on.

Excuse me, I learned to dive before I met him!

I'd just finished AOW when we met.

Notice I hedged my bets by using the perfect tense in the first sentence and the past perfect in the second

PADI but trained in the "tropical" UK waters from OW right through to PADI IDC staff.

The teaching I do is also in UK waters.

It's a good job his spangly pink dive thong was a one-size-fits-all then, isn't it?
