<font color='#0000FF'>Getting some e-mails which makes me think twice, They are from so called 'mail administrators' who say that the e-mail I sent was bounced. As I'm suspicious as I hadn't sent these e-mail these are deleted straight away.

Although I doubt it very much it made me wonder if my PC is sending e-mails without telling me, I've got the McAfee latest anti-virus so I presume I'm safe -or am I?

Is this a new form of sending viruses, has any oneelse got any of these?

The message blow is an exaomple. It comes with an attachment, sometimes a zip. Whatever it is I'm not opening it. Still it leaves me wondering...

This Message was undeliverable due to the following reason:

The user(s) account is temporarily over quota.

<font color='#F52887'>I have recieved the same sort of alerts from my norton software in the last few weeks. the &quot;returned&quot; mail from the &quot;administrators&quot; have been from: AOL, Projectaware.org and from NTL, as far as I can remember I have emailed no-one with these ISPs or have any addresses in my address book.
they have been deleted automatically by Norton Antivirus.

It's the MyDoom virus, do a web search, was also discussed on here a few days ago.

Deleting them is the right thing.

Chris,

I've been getting similar emails (and I too have the latest McAfee stuff).  I've had five or six now and am just deleting them immediately as I know that I haven't sent the notes.   I am assuming that it is some malicious little thing that has recognised that I do email people at this ISP, and has tried to trick me into opening it.  I'm no expert at all, but would suggest that deleting instantly is the best policy...

Yeah, getting these too. It'll be the W32.Novarg.A@mm/MyDoom &nbsp;worm which apparently is accounting for &nbsp;more than 25% of all e-mail traffic at the moment, it's designed to stop spreading on 12th Feb so things should quieten donw then, see &nbsp;Symantec for further info, you can find out about the new &quot;Latest Threats&quot; too

<font color='#000080'>These emails are coming in from others who have been infected and are 'spoofing' your email address. Check your virus defs are up to date and your firewall (I hope you have one of these) is not reporting any unauthorised access from port 25 on your PC to the Interweb.

I got my firewall from www.mcafee.com and anti-virus from the same place. &nbsp;Norton also does one I think, as do many others. &nbsp;I like mine, it seems to work! (Watch my computer blow up now I have said that!)

Zonealarm is a software freebie firewall. &nbsp; It's OK.

AVG is a freeware antivirus package which also works OK. &nbsp; If you're careful, they should be enough - if you don't trust yourself, or you are on broadband, go for the proper ones as mentioned above.

I've been getting seriously flooded by these poxy things. Not helped by the fact that anything @oneandoneis2.com will reach my main email addy.

Have had to set up my spam filter to wipe them all automatically. So let's hope I don't miss any GENUINE failure notes

Incidentally, Linux is immune to all these viruses and comes with its own firewall
