Planning for a drive- DIR style

Picture the scene - I am about to drive to Weymouth tomorrow and the journey will go something like this:-

Goal

Getting to the hotel without having a major argument or getting lost-
Chance of success (limited)

Unified team

Team members- Wife, 5 year old Son, 8 week old Baby, Dad

Has the wife done all the packing
Have I checked the car- fuel, oil, water
Do we all have our waterproofs
Do we have our wellies- are they all the correct size
Will all this fit in the car
What don't we need

Equipment

Do we have nappies, wipes, reserve clothes
Have you packed the stroller
Where is the backup waterproof cover
Have we packed the reserve wipes and space changing mat
Are you sure you have everything??

Exposure

Where the hell are we going
What do you mean you don't have a map?
Why can't we buy a bloody Sat Nav?
Why don't we have a Sat Nav- you don't have a map
Sarcasm mode on - "Are we using the force for our route then" - sarcasm mode off

Duration

Are we there yet
Daddy are we there yet ????????????
Do you know where your going

Daddy – I need a wee

Repeat as necessary for the next 2 hours

Gas

Thank god a Garage and a Macdonalds

Environment

Can we go to the beach now

Pretty comprehensive but I see a gaping flaw in your plan, small children + vehicular travel = possible projectile vomit I suggest that you include an option for this eventuality

Protective seat covers work pretty well- I wonder if I can get some made out of TLS material
