| Seals. Notoriously bad for leaking on LRs Check for any damp, mouldy looking bits When I found my Disco I checked out quite a few and many a back seat was well ruined by damp. I also checked underneath re the rust and the exhaust - oh they did laugh Obviously there will be many more 'chaps' on here that will know oodles but, being an owner, I have experience V8 petrol, expensive, experience though From a rust p.o.v. double check underneath where/if there are seatbelt mountings and where any running board is secured Other Landy things would be the electrics - don't assume they work and, if they don't, that they can be put right I'd love a Defender but couldn't maintain it (assuming I could ever afford one in the first place)

| The main thing to check with a Land Rover is if it's a Toyota Landcruiser. If it is, then buy it. If it isn't, then run away. Land Rovers are shit.

| Bro in law has a series 2a with a modified V8 in it and Range Rover suspension. Fastest thing on the planet from 0-30 but uses so much fuel you can only just get to the filling station and back before having to go back to the filling station.
