Tate St Ives

Turbs and I are off this evening for a dirty weekend in St Ives. If it's sunny, obviously we'll be spending a lot of the time sitting outside the Sloop Inn drinking local cider. If it's raining (and we decide not to sit inside the Sloop), is the Tate worth a visit?

I went years ago, when it first opened and, to be honest, modern art isn't my cup of tea. Has anyone been recently? Is it still all weird abstract sculptures and pre-school-style daubings?

We could, but it's a bit dingy inside.

Actually, that's probably exactly what we'll do

If the Tate is full of stuff a five year old could have done, at least you can have a good time pointing out this fact at the top of your voice like I do in Leeds art gallery

LOL, perhaps we'll do this after having spent a couple of hours in the Sloop

"Was that painted by a monkey?"

"Jees, my 6 month old nephew could make that."

I shall write them down. A couple of flagons of 'Old Scrunkle' and I'll be about ready.

We went a few years ago,my other half tramped across a patch of gravel only to be told not to walk over the exhibits. It was then carefully raked back into shape only to be tramped over by the following person!!! It was positioned in a garden area and seemed to be part of it.

Some of the other exhibits were interesting though, especially the pottery.

It depends what exhibition is on. When we went last year there was a good combo and some nice water photography too. But then I only went Because I like the main artist who was exhibiting.

And it is currently lashing down!
