THe Rutles? I though it was from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? in relation to the manager of the big rock group (neither of whose names I can remember at the minute). Still, could be in both, it's a very fine bit of scripting

I had a similar ruck with a certain well know bank not that long ago. I paid off the balance of my credit card (the banks own one, so not even a different company) by transferring money over the counter. They promptly lost any record of the transaction. Result was me ending up paying 2 months interest, one at the same time as I was fighting with them - the money had gone from my main account and funnily enough I was not keen to pay it again.

I tried and tried to get them to admit it was their fault and refund the £120 interest I had paid - would they..... what do you think?

Interestingly, I do not use that card anymore. Sadly the "well I will have to take my custom somewhere else" didn't really convince them I was a valued customer considering I owe them quite a lot more in the form of a student overdraft!

Dom,

Why aren't you internet banking so you can do your own transfers?

I am. But I can't transfer to or from a loan online - it doesn't qualify as an account, as such..
