Thumbs down Work...bloody work!

After starting work yesterday morning at 9am I am still sitting at my desk, I've gone past the tired stage, I had the "floppy neck" and "dribbles" while trying to keep my eyes open. All because I'm working for a French Canadian company (5 hour time difference, god bless their maple munching hearts!) and a project which was too take 2 hours has now run over 12 hours! I had enough spare time from the start of the conference call at 10pm to go through YD forums and posts and galleries, as divers we do have passionate little personalities as some discussions were driven by the total commitment that is normally set aside for, well, like the guys who dive in Mexico into 10ft of water from heights that would allow you time to contemplate your last few years on this planet and belt a few expletives too! I had to cancel my weekends dive to Killary, Galway, an amazing spot and where the diving can be pure heaven, as working in IT you get the odd time were the sh*t hits the fan and things just have to be fixed. So I'm feeling that instead of typing this, I should rolling about now of the back of the boat at Inis Boffin (its one of the Islands in the region) and leaving all the memories of traffic jams, queues, concrete and bills behind. Anyway, time to go home soon and get a few hours sleep as Ill be doing it again tonight, promising myself I'll be diving jjuring the week

Sorry to hear that but at least you are here and we're enjoying your company!

Go get some sleep - hope you feel better later.

Jebus Steve, If I stayed there I would be diving at all, Saturdays and Sundays selling dive gear! I wouldnt be getting wet at all, its only the very odd time but Killary would have been well needed

Now you know why you failed selection for the ARW. Absolutely nothing to do with the boots and uniform being too small . The stopping for coffee and scrambled eggs man!!! Every time !!!

Mind you, at this point you would not be a man to annoy Hope you get home soon Big Guy!
(hint: I`m 6` 2" and I call Graham Big Guy )

Gotta love being in IT ,
And due to IT related problems I have managed to miss over the years:

Birthdays
Wife
Dad
Friends
Mother so much more grief over that one !!!
Mother in law
Father in law
Wedding aniversary
Fathersday ,Mothersday gotta love Interflora ,still getting grief
My own birthday this year was nice in a comms room
Several good parties
And so many dives and courses ,
but did get to Miami on a Telephony course
Do get to travel to Belfast alot ,a great place to visit and party !!!

I Wouldn't change career .couldn't do a 9 to 5 job and have learnt 14 redbulls and proplus is a big no no , I now always have a change of clothes in car ,I get so many cool toys to play with, and if we didn't love it we would be working in a normal job, that and who else would pay like this ,and yep I'm not diving this weekend , I'm at home with a nasty kidney infection and logged into work !!!!
