I agree! They should have ellaborated more with "Feck off, Winker!" (But then would have lost points for spelling... :-/)

At what stage does an expletive become reasonable language? I guess when the current crop of Chardonnay's and Chelsea's, Brooklyn's and Cheshunt-Tesco's (I'm assuming someone will call their kid that! ) grow u.... age.

Having been a senior examiner for many years, I can assure you that no candidate would be rewarded for swearing. If an inexperienced examiner did reward such a response, that would be dealt with by the senior examiner moderating their work. The examination process is far more professional than tabloid 'journalists' would have us believe.

SWMBO has had a few cracking answers on the KS2 science papers this year. I would have loved to been able to post them but its not fair on the kids.

Oh SWMBO apologises to all KS2 pupils if ETS ( the examining body) don't manage to get your paper marked this year, its not a shortage of markers its a shortage of people in ETS with any sense or idea about how to organise examinations. unfortunately while examiners are proffesional the exam board are not


I think the thread title should be changed to examination , examination, examination. as the current title suggests its a teaching problem when its quite patently not . the phrase " you can't polish a turd" springs to mind in respect of the lad who wrote that answer on the exam
