| Imported post <font color='#000080'>Dear all, I've posted my BCD on e-bay, but have since had an offer above the reserved price but the guy wants it quick. Am I allowed to withdraw the sale before the bidding time ends? If i have to pay the charges of about £6.00 I don't mind. Or do I have to wait now till the bidding ends? As this was my first sale I didn't get the option for "quick sale" or whatever it is. Thanks, Ian

| Imported post I would hang in there - you may get a better offer at the last minute - some people only put their bids on in the dying minutes. This is what ebay say....... Canceling Bids and Ending Auctions Early You may cancel bids, if you have a valid reason. Legitimate reasons include the following: Bidder contacts you to back out of the bid. You cannot verify the identity of the bidder, after trying all reasonable means of contact. You want to end your auction early because you no longer want to sell your item. In this case you must cancel all bids on your auction before ending the auction. Cancellation will eliminate all bids placed by the bidder in this auction. If you are trying to correct an error in a bid, the bidder will have to bid again. Your cancellation will be publicised in the bidding history for this auction, and you may be asked to explain your cancellation to the bidder or other bidders. If the cancellation was not legitimate, you open yourself to potential negative feedback from other users. You may also choose to end an auction early. Ending your auction early does not relieve you of the obligation to sell this item to the highest bidder. Please be aware that you will both be notified via email of the auction results. If you are ending the auction because you no longer wish to sell your item, you must cancel all bids on your auction before ending it. |

| Imported post <font color='#000080'>Thanks for that Suzanne. So although I could, it wouldn't be considered to be "good form". Typical isn't it, been on sale for a few days and no interest at all, then the second it goes on e-bay I've had two offers to sell it quick! All the best, Ian

| Imported post I've sold items that have had no interest at all until the final 5 mins. I'm getting grief at the moment from someone who bought an old drysuit off me - it doesn't fit them and they want to return it, although I clearly stated the size in the auction details. They bought the damn thing without asking a single question and now want their money back. I'm being tough and sticking to my no returns policy which i did also clearly state - but I ask you! They are accusing me of - and i quote - "circumnavigating trading standards". I was very honest in my description and for goodness sake if you're going to buy a drysuit off ebay for £100 there is a certain amount of risk you have to accept - bloody ridiculous! |

| Imported post Ian this is a ploy in my view, they think it will go for more and as Suzannes says bidding is often left till the last minute, they are trying it on. They will have to wait until the end, they will have to buy it then if they are the winning bid. So stay strong. What I usually do if I want something is get a bid in after a couple of days, so as to be sure of getting it, then watch it until the end and then slap a last minute one in for my max, which is a pretty common method. These guys are hoping that because you have reached your reserve you will sel lit to them before the end and someone like me slaps in a bigger bid. If you do decide to take their offer now, make sure you get the money BEFORE you remove it from e-bay, but unless you have stated you might it will be bad form, not sure if you can even do it once its been placed without that option. You might well get a black mark from e-bay. You dont want that. HTH Matt |

| Imported post <font color='#000080'>The thing is guys, the offers I've had have been people that have seen the add on other sites and not bidders on ebay. I've only had one token low bid on ebay. I will see if they stump up the cash now and take it from there. Thanks for you advice though, much appreciated. All the best, Ian

| Imported post hold on and don't lose your nerve....its a ride!! |

| Imported post Ian, it's not just considered bad form to withdraw the item from sale. You don't actually have a valid reason as per the ebay definition thereof, hence you're technically breaking ebay rules. Contracts on ebay are legally binding, and not only do they take a very dim view of early withdrawal (let's face it, who doesn't Plus like everyone else has said.. you won't benefit from feedback for future sales...
