The wife had tried for about two years to get me to buy a pair, I finally succumbed about six weeks ago and bought a pair of offroaders. They're great for the boat and diving trips, fantastic arround the house and garden and are most hip down the local (err?) ..... but never with socks.

I will say that they should never be worn with shorts, and never, ever, ever with three-quarter length tracksuit bottoms and a footie shirt.
