EXCEL HELP: Ignoring weekend days
Hi All,

This should be easy, but I cannot make it work.

I have a schedule and by entering teh delivery date it automatically calculates all the other dates using formulas (eg B12-1 - gives the day before B12).

I want to change this formula so that it ignores weekends such that if B12 is a Monday, that B12-1 does not return Sunday but instead retruns Friday.

I have tried the excel functions NETWORKDAYS and WEEKDAYS but can't get it right.

Ignore that, think I've fixed it:

=IF(WEEKDAY(B12)=2,B12-4,IF(WEEKDAY(B12)=3,B12-4,B12-2))

you need to factor in if its been raining too or windy... excel wont help in booking diving trips... :-)

This is slightly neater:
=IF(OR(WEEKDAY(B12)=2,WEEKDAY(B12)=3),B12-4,B12-2)

Investigate the WORKDAY function, it allows you to specify holidays (I'd put them in a separate sheet and do a lookup).
