| Imported post Sounds like an air bubble. Try bleeding the radiators and see where that gets you. If it still doesn't work then ask again and I'll explain a bit more! Peter |

| Imported post Yup, bleed the radiators. Is there a pressure guage on your boiler? Sometimes you need to re-pressurise the system after bleeding. Did you dive in SA? |

| Imported post If you bleed the rads and it still does not work - Do you have a 3-way valve? If you have one, it 'decides where the hot water goes - to the Hot water cylinder or the rads or both. These sometimes stick or go wrong. Some have a lever so that you can manually override them.

| Imported post Noel, It depends if the system is gravity hot water/pumped radiators or fully pumped with two zone valves or a diverter. Ring me 07796-267657 if you're still not sorted.

| Imported post Noel Turn your room thermostat back up chances are you turned it down before going away, failing that like the other posts it could be the diverter valve, air lock, I'd start with the simplest first. I know a few Gas men for my sins so drop us a line if you get stuck Cheers Preciousss! |

| Imported post <font color='#000080'>It could be your pump has seized. The heat around it could be due to this- they get VERY HOT. Most MV systems the pump and boiler come on After the MV has opened- a safety thing. Can you hear your pump running? If not, there's usually a big round plug in center of body that can be opened with a big flat-blade driver, open it SLOWLY you should get a slight oozing of water - if there's lots of water your pump is next to knackered but may be temporarily recoverable. Dribble of water -remove plug, lots of water- switch of heating and close valves above and below pump, then remove plug. Once plug removed you will be able to see the end of the shaft with a slight slot in it (XXX !), anyway, using a small flat-blade driver turn shaft in direction of arrows on pump (pref) if still on it should kick into life with not too much effort. If switched off just move it until shaft is free-tapping with small hammer is acceptable- then replace plug, re-open valves and switch on. If it's v noisy it will need replacing but repeating above may see you through for a week or so. If you don't fancy all the screwdriver stuff try whacking it with a mallet or block of wood- it often works! PS that'll be fifty quid! |
