| Imported post HELP!! I know there's a thread on SI about spam and such but I could do with some help. My PC is acting the twat and I'm buggered if I know what to do about it. It's 3 years old, Windows ME and never been touched. Past couple of weeks it's been acting up on the 'net, disconnecting very quickly on ocassions, running slowly, struggling to launch Outlook Express, etc, etc. I've been looking at anti-virus software on amazon but don't know which is best. Some folk have given Norton crap reviews, some rave about it. Most reviewers speak highly about Panda. Anybody help please? ( and bear in mind I'm not that clever where these things are concerned!) Thanks as always, Martyn.

| Imported post Hi Martyn, Have you emptied all the rubbish out ?, you may be full of cookies, temp internet files and the like, as for Anti virus stuff, AVG from www.Grisoft .com is very good for a freebie with regular updates. HTH Mark |

| Imported post I have used Norton (Symantec) software for over 20 years with various programs. I currently used the antivirus at home and work for about 10 years. I would happily recommend it to anyone. I have also heard good reports on others. Whatever "flavour" you choose I would say go for a combined antivirus and spam software.

| Imported post Well having recently gone broadband and installed Norton, my experience is that it has slowed my system down significantly and keeps crashing my PC. I have another friend who has had the same problem and I'm about to uninstall Norton, bin it and download something called Zone Alarm which has been recommended to me.
