| I love tree climbing! When I was learning SRT for caving I used to practice on the old chestnut trees outside my house and really got into it. Use a spool of cord and a throw weight (or catapult) to get a line up over a branch, pull a rope up and prusik up it. You can get surprisingly high surprisingly quick. It's amazing looking out over a wood or a forest from up in the canopy. There are some really nice ones round Alderley Edge with absolutely incredible views. Some of the forestry estates in the highlands are great too. Tree climbing is pretty much the same techniques as SRT but in reverse. There are loads of places selling kit: Tree Climbing Equipment Online Shop - Treeworker.co.uk - Home It gets a bit addictive and you end up climbing up/abseiling off things you shouldn't
