I will be celebrating it though and telling people how much of a joke it is that it dont get the recognition it should.

Being born here, but being of Bog-trotter descent, I get the best of both worlds: St George's Day and St Paddy's Day - and there might just be a slight chance that I may be persuaded to partake of a few light libations - failing that, get completely wankered 'til the wee hours with a ruck of friends at my house - bags of wine and beer and a group Chinese

Too right it is! Ok, so George may have been a Frenchman but thats not an excuse to do something to celebrate our patron saint's day with a good party.

Personally I think we should do much more to celebrate the special day and Englishness in general. I'll be partaking of a great English passtime of getting drunk but would happily join in an invasion of France is someone arranged such a patriotic activity! &nbsp;

I know its not considered very fashionable to be patriotic these days but other countries do it so why shouldn't we? England is f***ing ace! Time the English remembered that and celebrated it.

We had dived the U119 and I remember spouting something along the lines of &quot;They don't like it up 'em captain Mainwairing&quot; only to suddenly realise that the nice young lady sitting next to me was of the Germanic pursuasion! Oops!
