| My dad saw ball lightning once. He is the ultimate sceptic, and so i believe him. We were once in scotland when it was pissing it down, driving along a tiny country road where we found a telegraph pole smashed to bits and smoking.

| Yep, it was a massive storm. It took out the substation in Witney (west-ish of Oxford), we lost power in both our factories. The water that came down in 10 mins blew all the manhole covers off the drains - even with a guy stood on one! Both factories flooded to differing degrees. I spent an hour sweeping water out the door with a few others! Glad you are ok, WOz. It does make a hell of a bang when it hits nearby, doesn't it? Lou |

| We missed all this extreme weather yesterday Seems like Gatwick has it's own little climate where it's permanently sunny. Actually I'd rather sit inside looking out at a thunderstorm than bright blue sky. Don't mind being inside when it's raining, but I hate it when it's warm & sunny.

| Had an interesting drive down the M1 in the rain. A few cars on the Northbound carriageway were on the hard shoulder and a merc was facing the wrong way with a police car in front warning the traffic. When I got home the car park for the flat I live in was flooded to an inch or too deep so had to park elsewhere! Glad to hear you're OK though!
