Yeah stevil, i can do CV exercise now no problem, i just dont seem to be able to do enough of it to do any good.

ANY amount of CV exercise does good and helps your body, even if it's just 15 minutes a day.


The gym, every night, full programme for a couple of months and i still managed to put on lard.

Lard or weight??? Often in the very early days of an exercise programme people gain weight as they gain muscle mass.

When your boobs get beyond (i reckon) a C cup it is painful to run.

Bicycle, oscilator, low impact cardio exercise. no problem with boobs, and no injury to joints.

As for weightwatchers - every one who follows weighwatchers to the letter, over the long term, WILL lose weight. It's impossible not to. But then I was having a conversation with a cabbie last night who picked me up from the gym. He was complaining that despite his efforts he never seemed to lose any weight... even after months of going to weightwatchers.. he later mentioned how he used to meet his brother for a curry after the meetings... not saying you were having curries every night, but strongly suspect you might be in denial about exactly how strictly you followed weightwatchers or slimming club. Obviously I only know what you share about yourself on this forum, so I apologise if I'm wrong.

Gym for 6mths - congratulations! Keep going!!! What's made your body what it is over the last 20 odd years will take more than 6 months to undo.

There is NO magic to dieting. Never has been, never will be. If fad diets worked, there would be no diet industry, because we'd all be skinny! It just creates a (scientifically well documented) weight-loss/weight-gain cycle in which you INVARIABLY end up weighing more than you started over time. I'm not making this stuff up, I learnt it from the Head of Dietetics at Leeds University which is one of the key leading research institutions for nutrition in this country.

There is only one way to lose weight: less calories in, more calories out without nutritionally undernourishing your body.

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh. But since you have chosen to personalise this thread by quoting your personal circumstance as a case study, the only way to respond to that case study is in a way that you will no doubt find personally unflattering.

Two words honey:

Granny & Eggs.

Just because i chose to "personalise" a thread does not make it open season on Porgs. I understand what you saying, hell, i KNOW what you are saying. No i didnt cheat on any diet i have been on (not like a curry every night kinda shite). Surprisingly i do have willpower occasionaly. But for me i had to be eating right on the lowest limits of the plans to lose anything. It was the same with the atkins (no i havent put it back on, before you say), i couldnt come off the induction phase for that either.

I have always wondered if i do have something wrong. My hair falls out (at the roots, so not due to colouring), i feel the cold loads more than a fat bird should and i have shockingly low blood pressure. However, i doubt any self respecting doctor would do anything since "you are fat, go lose some weight, it is the reason for everything wrong in your life".

Yeah, i used to walk! And i used to walk 20 mins flat out every day. Unfortunatly cant do that now, since i changed jobs. Hence the dog-share.

I used to use the free personal trainer at the Gym (mainly to see his arse, but never mind). I did put on lard - they had the scales that measure your body fat percentage. They couldnt understand why either, i had a food diary (a good way of keeping off the naughties as you have to admit to someone else you have eaten something by writing it down) and they thought i was cheating like mad till one of the girls from the vets came in with me and said i wasnt!

Speaking from experience with my other half (who is a size 16) she has the opposite problem (high blood pressure).

I know you're not fat because you eat too much - some people are just the way they are because, well, that's them. My other half's tried everything and she can't get below a size 12.

Me - I know I'm only tubby(ish) now because I stopped smoking and I eat too many fats. But I know what to do about it (and am doing so).
