| It depends on a couple of things. Are you using a s/steel backplate? What type of drysuit & undersuit are you using? I would start with 30-50BAR in the tanks and no weight belt in fresh water and see how you go. You will not need any additional weight with full tanks but you may be a bit too light when the tanks are empty (depending on your suit). A bouyancy check is required. Regards, Mark. Quote:

| Gareth, a buoyancy check is obviously the way to go, but I found I dropped about 2-3kg when I made the same switch as you.

I dive: 5kg V weights. then in fresh water I have a weight belt with 4kgs on it. In the sea I add 2 kgs. I dive a membrane suit with a 200g undersuit. I am reasonably neutral in the water in my skinnies. I'm 6'2'' and 15 stones. HTH?

| Just done this without a backplate and I actualy had to add a kilo? A backplate can be 3 to 6 kg by some of the ones I looked at. James

| Neither my backplate or wing have changed. the only difference in my rig is 2 X 12 Ltr 232 rather than a !5 Ltr and 3Ltr everything else is identical, so I would have thought it was a fairly simple calculation if the weight of the air and metal are known. Now I'm more confused than ever |

| Plug the respective weights into the buoyancy calculator linked above and see what it says. Obviously, the weight of the manifold & cylinder bands aren't taken into account, but it'll give you a rough idea..
