    Beaver fins

    Hi All,

Ive looked at the Beaver assault and predator fins online and cant decide which ones to buy - Is their a big difference? I know you get the steel spring straps on the predator and my reasons to buy are:-

My current aqualung caravelles are getting raggy and are quite long so I looked at the Beaver because they look hard wearing, are heavier (so no ankle weights!) and look shorter (goes in my dive bag easier).

    Does anyone have a preference?

    Cheers Simon

    Hi Simon
I recently bought the Hollis F1 fins which are very well made, heavy and hard wearing, they more expensive than the Beaver fins but come with spring straps already on so may be comparable if you where going to change them (I don’t know the price of the Beaver fins but you can get the Hollis for about £85 if you shop around)……

As with anything it may be wise to try a pair of your chosen fins before buying as many feel very different.

    Regards

Foot pocket on the Assault is bigger than the Predator. Assault is wider, too. About the same length, though.

    As above.

I was in the same dilemma a year or so ago. Between those two I went with the Assault and am still very happy with them. At the time there was very little information about them, it's nice to see that such a cheap option is being publicised online more now.

The assault fins are some of the heaviest jet-fin style fins you can get.

    Hi All,

I purchased the Assault fins today - The foot pocket was bigger and as I have size 11 feet they were a comfy fit in my drysuit. They do seem heavier than my other fins so will try without ankle weights on Sunday.

Ive swapped my undersuit for some Fourth element exotherms and now my fins - I wont need a weight belt at this rate!

    cheers for all your comments
