Well, THAT's certainly worth knowing! Thanks, you've saved me some cash. I knew Apeks had stopped doing them (though other companies still do, under other names) but didn't know why.

With the money I didn't spend on this, and the money I didn't spend in the pub last night, I can almost justify what I DID spend on a new torch earlier today!

(and buy you a pint sometime, obviously!)

Thank you gents, will look at those mentioned at the dive show. Ebay have a few of the AQ4s going at the moment so there is another option. Thanks Angus for the heads up on the Apeks. And I promise never to turn it on during a night dive.

Must be very effective, I’ve been blinded by plenty fools with the Koran (on CD) hanging from the rear view mirror. Just the thing in hot countries where the sun always shines.
