If the DSMB gets caught on your reg??? and most of us have been caught up in one at some point of our careers???? But if it works for you - so be it. James

Personally i've never had any problems with the regs ever getting caught. I have occasionally had line caught around the handle of the reel and had the whole thing go to the surface without me (particularly when I got a new reel not all that long ago) but the regs are always kept far away from anything they could get caught on. Shortening the webbing strap on the DSMB is a big help in reducing that possibility even further, as I mentioned above. David |

| I managed to get my lump hammer caught on the rope of a lifting many years ago. Fortunately only from 10m. I am now VERY careful about sending anything up. AP valves DSMBi - only way to go!

I agree a DSMB could get caught on lots of things, but the last thing I would want when I am being dragged to the surface is for my reg to have been pulled out my mouth also. Hope this clarifies the reasons. James

| I haven't tried the bottle DSMB's so I can't comment on them, they just look so bulkey to me, but I do inflate my DSMB with the exhaust from my poseidon cyklon, I haven't had a problem with it but I am quite carefull. I suspect it is alot easier with a side exhaust reg like the poseidons. |
