| Further to my last post, I have a (very quick) response from AP; While I can understand your worry, if you look after your cylinder properly, this should not occur. There is a non-return valve on the bottle, which in theory should not let any water in. But you should keep an eye on the valve to make sure that the rubber non-return seal is not perishing. Obviously if this perishes, the cylinder will take water in. So from the horses mouth you have it. Be confident people! (Chris Denney's where I got mine from £74.99 - http://www.divingdirectshop.co.uk )

| 0.1l at 200bar is 20l at 1atm. that's 4l (4kg lift) at 40m deep or 2l (2kg lift) at 90m deep. I can imagine that the smaller bottle might struggle to launch itself on very deep dives... |

| Phil, you'd have to go seriously deep, even at 90m you'd have 2kg or so of lift available, It'd be slow but it should get up even with that amount of lift. If you were rthat worried you could always give it one breath of exhaust bubbles first. The free diving boys reckon that a 0.4l bottle suffices to lift an unconcious freediver from depth fast. | Buddy DSMBi I've just bought a Buddy DSMBi with a din fitting bottle. So far so good. There's a springloaded bolt on the neck of the bottle (if you've got one I'm sure you'll know what I'm talking about). What is it? And is there anything I need to do with it? Thanks |
