My guess is about 20l, which means the bottle needs 200 Bar in it.

Tis a quality piece of kit though... Just remember to fill the bottle before you dive and try to show it off to your diving buddies :o Not that that ever happened to me of course
we have a rule on the boat , no one ever rolls up an smb without filling the bottle first , simple little rule , but it does away with the embarrasing , er nothing happened look silly and sheep like. saves a lot of hard times when you get back in the boat too. as well as the safety aspect . as we say round here
its only funny till someone gets hurt.
    then its hillarious

I use a CO2 one now. Much better than the AP one. I can get 2 blobs on spools in one pocket.

    SAVING THE CRACK BOTTLE

to make your Buddy DSMB Crack bottle last longer

A good technique to stop possible sea water contamination of the crack bottle/cylinder is to open it just enough to put just sufficient air in the DSMB and then close it back up before releasing (quarter full at 30 metres fifth at 40 metres etc..) which will give a full bouy at the surface, also check the one way rubber on the DSMB cylinder post regularly as constant use can blow them out of place and allow any salt water which is in the bottom of the DSMB to get back into the crack bottle.
