Shiny New Shears Yes, OMS shiny new shears about to arrive with a mate from the U.S. sadly it looks as though US security took a fancy to them when checking hold luggage and swiped them - v annoying, ah well, grumble over with (at least my force fins should be good to try out).

| They knicked my 14mm spanner from my reg bag so shears were going to get swiped! ![]()

if they've taken it from hold luggage thats uncalled for because AFAIR it is not easy to get into the hold from the cabin and if you do then the last thing the pilot/cabin crew need to worry about is a pair of shears in there because you will already have been in areas restricted to the general public.

I love shears, I´ve had two pairs and sadley have lost them both...how ? God only knows...

So how much are they setting you back? I use these, £2.99 from Maplins, bargain! ![]()

Out of interest, what do you need to do to the snips post-dive to keep them working? My current knife spends most of its time in my bag to save the hassle of drying it off or resharpening it through the thick layers of rust that quickly develop. With snips (and their moving joint) doesn't that become an even bigger problem? It might just be that i'm more lazy than most, but I don't want to spend more time looking after £2.99 cutters than the combined effort on my regs and everything else. Titanium snips anyone? David
