| New gloves I think I've realised why my hands are getting cold on dives, using the same gloves that kept me nice and warm all last winter. Last winter I would pour warm, steaming water out of my gloves after a dive. This winter - well, ask the guys who were at Wraysbury last weekend how much I was swearing after the dive. I thought I had frostbite. It appears that my 5mm Scubapro armortex kevlar thingies are no longer 5mm. The neoprene has compressed to about 2mm in places! (I just realised this after trying on a new pair in the dive shop today). So... time for new gloves. I was thinking of either a new pair of the Scubapros (and work on the basis that they'll be a yearly-replacement item) or some of those legendary three-finger penguin mitts. Then I noticed these - with the wool lining I've seen good comments on. http://www.simplyscuba.com/ProductDe...?StockID=78708 Has anyone tried them? Any good? (by good I mean good down to 2-3c or so). Any other recommendations welcome too. I've been happy with the S'pros until recently.

| If it's the Pinnacles (could'nt get the link to work) then i've just got some. I can't say they are massively warmer (only used them on 2 dives so far) than 5mm's,maybe the same, but being 4mm and armourtex means they are a bit more flexible than the Scubapro's. I'm going to try them again this weekend, but that's in the sea, 8 degrees C or so. Alan |

| I don't suffer with cold hands, when i do wear gloves, i use thoses thick rubber working mans type with a pair of fine silk ones underneath ( care of the cart tarts on the Seacat ). A good underglove, if you know how to get them is

| Forgot to add. If you do get them definately get a size larger than you normally have. They are a bit tight otherwise. Alan |

| I have a pair of those and they're the most comfy ones I've used for a while. I got them when I got the Pinnacle polar semi-dry and a set of the matching boots. (For non-UK diving) They're now my gloves of choice. Well recommended! I was gonna say I'd bring them along on Sunday for the chamber gig and you could have a butchers, but I don't think you're coming. Mark.

I tried one on for Med type diving, and it was a bit comical trying to get into it,too difficult i thought. I'm looking at the Arctic at the moment as it's more "normal" in design. Alan |

It is a bit of a struggle to get into (It's size is theoretically bigger than my normal, however it's still on the small-ish side on me). The arms are the wierdest bit because you have the inner silver lining bit which I've never worked out if you need to put that on first, then your arms, or your arms in first, then the silver lining. Also, if your arms are in at the wrong angle, because they're pre-bent, and the angle of the zip, the zip won't close However, once it's on it's perfect, and very very very very very warm. Best semi-dry I've ever used, to be honest. (vs a Mares Isotherm, Scubapro Titanium et. al.) I find it worth the struggle to get into it. Very comfy for long-term usage. I need to speak to them direct because I'm sure I'm missing a trick here somewhere! Mark.
