Membrane Nitrox Compressor - Herts / N. London

Coming round to that 02 cleaning time of the year ... just wondering (as I very rarely need to get a fill away from home) if there is a LDS with a membrane nitrox compressor in the Herts / N. London area?

Just to clarify - I'm right in thinking that a membrane compressor doesn't necessarily require my cylinders to be o2 clean?

This may be a bit of a forlorn hope, I'm sure there are lots of reasons why I will be told to cash up and pay for the O2 cleaning, so question 2 is this ... who's cheapest for o2 cleaning in Herts / N. London? My local dive shop charges £25 each for 15l cylinders and last year I also had to pay for the 32% fill on top!

Yes thats right no need for o2 clean if your filling with membrane. There is a 40% rule but I can't think of a membrane that will go higher than 40%. (no doubt someone willl comment on that)

I posted a reply but I cant see it now, anyway 10quid a cylinder for an 02 clean is more normal. I paid 40 for a clean and fill at Deep Dive Luton for a twinset, 2 tanks and a manifold, plus a twinset fill of 32%.
You could also get a fill if the LDS uses pre-mix you only need 02 clean if they use partial pressure fills i.e. 100% plus a top off.

As far as I know, all the LDS' in North London use partial pressure mixing. Not sure about the ones outside the M25 though

The vast majority of LDS in this country use partial pressure mixing. There are only 2 or 3 places in the country that I'm aware of that have a membrane system. The same goes for continous blending which also removes the need for O2 cleaning.

The trouble is even if you have a LDS that has a membrane system whenever you go diving in a different area you will be back to partial pressure mixing and so will need O2 clean cylinders.
