Underwater Pencils

Whe have a green department at work, and I've just been given a plastic pencil made from recycled plastic cups.
It will not absorb water and split like a wooden one.
I suppose the only downside, is the if you lose it underwater, it's not biodegradeable.

I want some underwater tippex to I can cover the pencil case in it then write "Iron Maiden" across it. Or if I'm not in an angry mood maybe "Shalamar"

I bought some on ebay a year ago and use them with wet notes. There has been one in my front pocket on the YBOD for about a year now. They last better than wood (less than a week) or cheap push to extend (about a month's archaeology recording).

I have been using these for the last couple of years and they are excellent. They do not swell up or split in the water, the lead does not fall out and they are neutrally bouyant. Only £1 for 2 as well.

ikea do a great line in uw pencils, very cheap, and the right size

I remember seeing these for sale at the eden project, though a long way to go for most.

They sell them in the BSAC shop as well with a nice bit of red string on them. Very good for tieing to your Dive Marshal slate as well

Seasearch give them away as well for U/W Surveys (No string on them though )
