DSMB... does it matter what colour it is?

Am about to buy a DSMB for the missus and was wondering if the colours mean anything, the orange seems to be the standard so does the yellow mean anything or is it just a hi viz colour??
Also, what is a suicide clip? as I have heard this mentioned a few times on the forum but am unsure what it looks like.
Cheers

Some teams use a yellow smb to indicate some type of emergency, i.e. low on gas., however it's very non-specific and can just end up meaning, 'I screwed up deployment of my red smb)

A 'suicide clip' here or here of those that you can just hit to make them catch like a carabina, a non-suicide clip is somthing like a piston clip (dog lead type) here open it to use it.

Dont get a black one!

Matt

ps dont use 'suicide' clips they snag too easily I'm told. Piston clips, also known as double enders.

Have a look at the buddy self inflating smb, expensive but well worth the money IMHO.

Matt

Thanks for the advice!! I guess this topic can start up a right old debate then!!!
Only reason I ask is that I was gonna get a Buddy orange and yellow DSMB but didn't want it to indicate anything it shouldn't.
Also thanks for the pics of the suicide clips. Never really thought of them like that before and have a few of them on my DSMB/reel and torch. Think I'll swap them over for the piston types. Cheers
