| You might be surprised at what the surgical ones can cope with. The first time I came accross them was on an ambulance training course about 15 years ago when the instructor cut a coin in half with them. I have had them defeated by a donkey jacket collar and had to resort to a good sharp knife, which worried a fireman who was working with me NO end

| Nothing at all wrong with the surgical ones........cheap enough to throw away and buy a new pair each season. I have used mine to cut 3/4" anchor line no problem

| cheap surgical shears and cheap knives for me replace them every year if you're worried about deterioration and rusting if you buy nice shiny EXPENSIVE kit, (1) is it really necessary, given the cheaper stuff works just as well and (2) if the same principles of galactic sod's law are in order, I'd bet you'd lose the shears on your first dive then again, the OMS shears do look really, really nice ... ahh what the hell, just buy them vid

| But giving an urchin a propper hair cut is faster using a knife
