| Feels like I'm following you!!!!! Trouble is Dom, stainless is far from the best metal for allen keys in terms of their resistance to 'rounding'. If all the the tasks you intend doing are relatively low torque there probably won't be a problem, it's when you come to undo that ONE stuborn screw that things can get a bit pear shaped (well, more sort of orange shaped I suppose). Check out some of the kits that cylists use, you may find some of those are stainless, and usually a full set that folds up into it's own grip, Phil

| There was a thread not long ago where these cropped up, but I can't find it. IIRC NigelH may well have been involved... Adrian

| If you talk to me very very very nicely I'll find out where I got my rather beautiful set of nickel plated fold-away allen keys from. Much cheaper than stainless, they don't rot and they are tough for those stubborn screws. Aha- never mind the grovelling here they are: http://www.shop4tools.co.uk/acatalog/Metric_Keys.html ![]() you want the 2.5 to 10 set, you do.

| The other option if you're really looking for the stainless option Craythorne & de Tessier do everything you could possibly want in marine grade stainless. Craythone & De Tessier Personally for Hex Key's I'd go for Woz's suggestion You do pay the price for stainless though... looking like a stunning £18 for a single allen key though. The one thing really worth having is the Sea Spanner... stainless adjustable... even got a built in bottle opener... what more could you want??? |
