CD Reels

http://customdivers.com/reels.htm

Has anyone used the CDP50C pocket reel ? I like the fact that you can control the free running of the reel by simply releasing the "ratchet pawl" (!) rather than the CDR70C which has a knob to turn it from free running to ratchet. However, the CDP looks a little less sturdy and I'm not convinced at to how the "pawl" will stand up to a bit of use !

Has anyone used the CDP and can give any suggestions (apologies in advance if this query has been raised before).

Thanks in advance,

Kristen

Got one myself, not had it long so not too much help.

found it so far very good, not had any problems with the 'pawl'???. Though i am informed that the line guide does tend to fray the line because the edges haven't been filed down too well, nothing a dremmel or the like wouldn't finish properly.

by the look of it, its supposed to be held in the left hand, release button on left thumb and right hand winding in (as per a normal righthanded person operating)

if used in opposite way, then the release button would be underneath
