| Absolutely fantastic piece of kit, In fact I wish I still had mine as it broke in Porthkerris last year - Still it's the diveshow tomorrow... Toothpaste on the inside removes the protective film, put it on, leave it overnight and wash it off in the morning. When you want to use the mask spit in it, rub it around and rinse out. Big eye masks are seriously good.

| Myself and my daughter use the big eye mask and love them. You can get some odd reflections in them at times and this is the reason a friend of mine stopped using his. However my daughter reckons she can see behind her using the reflections!

| As Noel says, toothpaste (as I understand ) is an abrassive which does remove the 'protective film' on the inside of the mask. But its important to realise that before every dive whip up a 'greeny' an' gob away to prevent 'fogging'. Personally I use the 'Matrix' which is an excellent 'Big Eye' mask ~ superb!

| Thanks for explaining the reason for the toothpaste knew there must of been a reason as to why mother was saying it as she is a liitle too young to be going mad lol. I knew about the spitting bit have been doing that for years with my swimming goggles. I'll let you know how I get on with reflections Jen if your daughter is right and you can see behind you with the mask on it may even be handy to wear on a day to day basis @ work as I'm always saying I need eyes in the back of my head though it may scare my patients Donna |

| The "see behind" feature of them is very useful when keeping an eye out - but only on the clear skirted ones ![]()

| Hi Donna and welcome to the never ending trip down dive kit lane The Big Eyes is an outstanding mask and one of the best bits of kit i have brought. A good mask is as good an aid to getting your diving sorted as anything, and in inexperienced divers can be the biggest factor in progressing in the sport or dropping it. A poor or poorly fitting mask can put people off from the start. If it fits and is prepared properly it installs confidence and aids both the diver and the instructor. I think you have the right one to get you moving along very nicely. Enjoy

I don't have this mask but I have had my 2 Tusa liberators for about 10 years, I made sure I had two when very early on in my training I swooshed my mask over the side of the rib to rinse it and unfortunately let go, it ruined my weekend. |
