Post Beaver Spring Straps?

Had my first ever strap snap on fins last night (had them 3 years so not TOO bad) so looking for a new one. Spring straps sound a good idea and the beaver ones look cheap. Anyone got any experience using these? Do they work as advertised or am i better off buying more rubber straps ?

Lots of sizes on their web site too, anyone got a clue what size would fit Mares Avanti X3 size large fins ?

I've got some of these and they're fab. They're a bit stiff and take some putting on (over my boots I mean), but that might change with use and my fins feel nice and secure. Not sure what size you'd need, but my fins are S/M and I bought size Medium, if that's any help.

Take your fins in when you get them
Kirstie's don't fit to the fin as securely as I'd like, hoever once they are on the tension keeps them there.

If you're really lucky, they may just clip in, if not you nedd to swap the fastex females on the fin.

I looked at those and saw the evil words "DIY" and mention of "Tools". Those alone mean i have little or no chance of succesfully getting the things to work.

I bought a set and got XL, only to find they were to tight and forced my foot into the foot pocket on my fin. This in turn gave me cramp. In a fit of anger I pulled the strap and it gave!!!! I stretched it to "just right" and they are fab now....did a weeks diving in Scapa and haven't looked back. Still going stronge. I payed £15 at my LDS....there is a bloke on Ebay selling them for £20. I've found them great.

Yes, they will do this, on the copies that I have (they are all copies of Farralon ones, I think) we put cave line down the middle of the spring to prevent over stretching.

Just had a thought. I wear the same fins in the pool with 5mm wet boots along with 2 different drysuits with vastly different boot sizes. Is this going to cause an issue getting the fit right.
