S/S Nuts & Bolts

Dear all,

I'm picking up my new twins next weekend but I sold my old set with my long bolts that were used in conjunction with my V weight.

Am I correct in thinking that I will need the following:

2 x s/s M8 Nuts
2 x s/s M8 Locking Nuts
Length (1m) s/s Threaded bar

If someone could just confirm this that would be great. Oh, and if you know where I can pick this stuff up that will be greatly appreciated too.

Many thanks,

Ian

Jag,

Yep, this is what I would use but I would also add a couple of spring washers on the inside too just to make sure it satys where I want it at all times. As for where; your friendly neighbourhood chandlers would be your best bet.

But don't worry; someone will be along in a moment to tell you that only Halcyon bolts will do!

I thought most new bands came with correct bolts etc... if putting together your own would suggest you use an A4 grade stainless steel, the next grade lower A2 rusts alot easier.

Bri

Ps Halcyon bolts no good as they have a weird imperial thread - Angus play nice

The bands come with a standard length, but to incorporate the V weight they need to be a good bit longer.

Cheers,

Ian

I bought a meter too and did somebody else's rig later from the same bar.
Also washers (a selection) and wing nuts.
Buy plenty and keep them in the tool box as if you don't rescue yourself you'll do it for somebody else. (Thank you Angus)

Yellow Pages : Fastenings. Most places have a bolt shop reasonably locally. You just ask for Marine Grade.

Not unless the v-weight is so big that it makes the backplate stand proud of the cylinders it shouldn't.

My pleasure Nigel - that's why I carry such a large tool box around. I hate anyone to have to miss a dive for something forgotten/broken.
