Handbag strap on a Buddy blob

Well I hav a nice shiny AutoBlob now and it's erm, quite large. Anyway- how does everyone keep that handbag strap nice and tidy? It seems a bit annoyingly long. I am tempted to cut it off and put a D ring on the velcro strap which I'll use to fix my line on with.

I store mine in a leg pouch seperate from my reel.

I use a lovely Kent Tooling reel and the SMB strap on that keeps it all nice and tidy.

Peronally I have it all rolled up inside the velcro handle for my shiney Kent tooling reel

There is a page somewhere that gives instructiona on how to replace it with a centralised tab with a brass eyelet.....which seems like a better solution and I would do myself if I didn't expect to cock it up

It just seems a bit dangly and catchy. I know you are meant to be able to get your arm through it at the surface.

I might get a nice brass eyelet put into it instead.

First time I used mine in anger my second stage got caught in the loop and a frantic millisecond ensued. I got it clear before I got dragged to the surface but it wasn't nice....solution? bundle up the loop in the hand holding the SMB until you are ready to let go and don't get angry.

Sounds obvious but....

OK scissors coming out unless someone can give me a really good reason not to. It just seems like a really poor design asking for trouble in a Conor-esque fashion.
