Otter britannic config

Hey all

Looking for advice on configuration for a pair of MTM his and hers britannic drysuits.

So far the suits will have:
2 cargo pockets towards side of thigh
Warm neck
Si tech valves

Anyone had any experience with the telescopic version or ideally both? Does it aid in flexibility greatly or is a well fitted suit flexy enough?

I heard on a forum of dump valve placement being not entirely as desired... any commments appreciated.

The new heavy duty seals sound tough... but is the easy replace seal kit, (come on you know what I mean the ring thingumajigs) worth it... I doubt I will be using dry gloves.

Cheers

That's what I have. Well, not his and hers.

I don't have the telescopic one and I can get in an out OK even with my dodgy shoulders. The arms are a bit of a pull and I should have ordered a bigger size of boots to take my weezle booties but extra give at the tummy wouldn't help that.

Mine is OK. It's pretty much right on the shoulder line so holding a nice horizontal trim it keeps the suit aerated enough to be warm and if I want to trim negative a bit I roll the shoulder up and that gets it to bubble off a bit more.

Certainly I found the heavy duty latex more comfortable than the lighter thing I had before. A bit less of the elastic band feel with the same nice waterproof seal.

I'm as happy as can be with mine. Well except for the mice incident.

Cheers Nigel...

I'm now utterly sold and will be putting measurements in ASAP.

The telesopic comes only in std sizes so I will avoid that I think and get the mtm.

I remember vaguley a story about mice on the forums... surely storing a cat, dog, old lady and fly etc in it could prevent such a problem.

I have no mice but shook out a small eight legged pony from mine the other day... aussie partner assures me that it was a spider but I REFUSE to believe they come like that. Needless to say current drybag is now in the house rather than garage.

Where did you get the electric mouse trap from? Do the house lights flicker when theres a kill? Looks like a nice toy. I'm almost tempted to buy some mice from the pet shop to try it out.

Ebay. It runs on 4 AAs.
You just leave it and check it every day so some poor wee beasty doesn't "go off" in it.
Having had two small children and spent a lot of time rescuing hampers from under pianos and such killing small fury things doesn't come to naturally but, as I say on the page, eating my drysuit is WAR!

Put the cargo pockets on the side of the thighs - any bias towards the front makes getting into RIBs awkward.

I have to say that my suit is near perfect, except my shoulder dump tends to get in the way of my 'spare' reg. When I am breathing from it and turn my head it tends to catch the hose so in worst case could pull the reg from my gob. I am aware of this, so not too much of a problem.

Err, its a load of rubbish about the telescopic being off the peg only. My britannic was mtm for someone else, they had it plus 2 inches on the legs and an extra long telescopic section. It still didn't fit them, I managed to get it cheap when otter were having trouble finding anyone that it'd fit!

I have the telescopic off-the-dummy version. I went telescopic as they are just so much more comfortable and easier to get in and out of. I had a DUI CF200X before and am totally convined by the telescopic suits. The Otter suit is great, they sorted me out in my hour of need and I have used the suit ever since. The DUI is in the cupboard.

Pickies of me in said suit on the www.ccr100.co.uk site on the dive team page (but not for long when the O'three suit comes). Can't wait, Thanks O'Three
