Thats a good point I have a 5mm hood from my wetsuit so I shouldn't really have to use a wet hood....I may invest in another pair of those gloves....expensive but worth it.

Glad to hear you are nearly back in the water....I think Guildy missed you

they don't make the semi-dry version with kevlar - in fact according to scubapro's website they don't make anything called 'armortex' !?

i've used the scubapro-semi's this year and haven't had cold hands once - a huge improvement over my 5mm poseidon gloves from last year... they are snug and t**t to get on when wet though!

ps - try www.frogsborn.co.uk for a price - sure mine were a damn site cheaper than that...

Sorry, didn't answer this bit....they were toasty, actually felt warm/hot after a bit, I took them to scapa etc and not a worry. The only catch....as Justin says....is that they are a complete B*&%h to put on when wet....if this is a second pair then that isn't a problem.

The only strange bit is that they are pre-formed/shaped whihc means that they relax into an action-man style grip, but it does feel quite natural and is worth it if you are warm

I think it was Zak who recommended them to me - he also recommended wearing surgical gloves underneath them to aid donning and doffing..

Also, apparantely, if you use Atrixo hand cream this can help as it creates a waterproof layer. Not sure how true this is as I've never been brave enough to try it!

I have reservations about what Atrixo might do to latex

the disposable gloves that you get from garages are handy for wearing underneath your gloves... makes getting them on and off much easier..
