Gekko or Mosquito?

I've just booked a week on a liveaboard in Sharm and need to buy a computer that can cope with Air and Nitrox. I don't want anything fancy, but will probably diving with air on some dives and Nitrox of different mixes on other dives so need something that I can enter different 02 percentages in for each dive. I've read the blurb on the websites, and they both say for air or Nitrox, presumably they will both do what I need?

Thanks

Jen

Sure they do,

you set them to Nitrox mode and leave it there! 21% for air - easy peasy

i've got the gekko, thing it's nice...basic but nice...quite large as apose to the mosquito that looks more like a watch and you have the option with the mosquito to download the dive info onto the computer, both do nitrox though. the gekko is the more basic one...but theres nothing wrong with that, hope this info helps

I have a Gekko only does 50% Nitrox, is that important for you?
No download capabilty, dont miss what I havent got.
Other than that I like it. No back light either, phorescent screen works well enough. Big numbers - I like them.

Matt

If they are only diving one gas then it is likely under 50%

I would vote for Gekkos as they eat Mosquitoes, well here they do anyway.

Cant help with the computer choice really I think it is mostly down to size of the screen and if you want to use it as a watch when not diving.
