Had my SMB and bottle for about 5 years now, have replaced bottle a couple of times- If you send old bottle back to AP they will service the valve and replace cylinder for around £35 - Usual great service from AP

Richie S saw the sea in a book once
I have recently purchased smbci, and is a fantastic bit of kit. Go and buy one today. One Key advantage of the buddy smbci is that it can be inflated via the baffle with the dv if the bottle is empty.

You just have the other risk of the SMB line getting caught around your DV. I'll stick to the DSMBi.

But mine is only long enough to go across the smb ;no big loop like yours .the problem I had was when rolled up with the velcro it didn't hold & it unrolled behind me so I put a snap fastner at the end of the velcro & in 2 years it hasn't come undone since

£80? I bought mine from SDS in Sheffield for £65.

Top bit of kit, absolutely fantastic although I've just had to repair mine as it had a cut in it.

I just wrap the velcro round the reel handle and clip the whole lump to the wing D-ring on the turtle.
This starts it far enough back that it doesn't hand below me and I can reach back and unclip it blind.

How do most of you attach the reel line to the buoy??

Woz istn't that what the big strap is for? Any chance of a picture with it attached to the reel?
