Woz istn't that what the big strap is for? Any chance of a picture with it attached to the reel?

Thanks
Ian
See the round ring added to the velcro strap? That's how. And the thing is held to the reel with bungee.

Has anyone done this to their SMBCi ?

http://www.bitz.fsnet.co.uk/bitzmakingstuff1.htm

I do find the long strap a bit cumbersome occasionally, and have thought about modifiying it like in the above site. However, would you then use the boltsnap to clip onto the line on the reel? Or is there another way you would use the above modification to connect blob to reel?

I find a bowline nice and predictable.

The newer style don't use the handbag strap to hold the blob closed but have a seperate strap to which you simply connect a ring like I have. Knot the handbag strap up into a loop you can thread the cylinder through and you don't have to do any cutting and melting or anything.

I think I understand now. So either remove or tie the handbag strap out of the way, fit a small d-ring or similar onto the main strap, and then connect the reel to the blob using the ring, right?

Probably to the "handbag strap" - it's the looped webbing at the bottom of the smb in this picture

As others have said - to the handbag strap.

This means that by setting myself a bit negative I pull dead center and stand the blob upright.
