Questions about reels from Kent Tooling

Hi there, cananyone with practical experience answer the following on the KT reels. Happy to hear from KT as well

1. Is the velcro strap on the DSMB reel long enough to hold a Buddy DSMB with crack bottle?

2. Could the scooter reel be used as a DSMB reel? Seems like a plan, the handle would leave two sets of fingers free to play with the blob.

3. As far as I can see, the jump reels utilise the velcro blob holder as a handle. Neat and compact, but how does it work in practice. Easy to use or PIA when winding up a blob.

Cheers

1. Is the velcro strap on the DSMB reel long enough to hold a Buddy DSMB with crack bottle? YES as we manufacture longer ones for this bottle

2. Could the scooter reel be used as a DSMB reel? Seems like a plan, the handle would leave two sets of fingers free to play with the blob.

I have two reels one with an "S" handle and one jump reel, I love the jump reel and find it very easy to use.

Probably thinks your like so many other dive shop owners that sell somebody what you want to sell them rather than what they want

I can personally vouch for Johns integreaty in that .He will take the time to listen to what you want to do with it ,then give you the options without pushing one or the other unless you ask .Give him a ring it is well worth it & IME his service is second to none .Plus he actually goes diving unlike some dive shop workers !

Thanks John, email sent, it's difficult for me to make personal phone calls during working hours. As for posting, it's nice to get a second opinion, thanks Fiona.

If the only advice that we took came from Dive Shop owners, we'd all end up with loads of kit we didn't need.

Cheers

Note to self Darren - Stop asking advice from Dive Shops

Sorry John, it was meant as a tongue in cheek comment, not a critism of you.

I can also confirm that after dealing with John myself, he is very pleasant and not at all of the sort of 'sales' nature that is common in dive shops.

And very good quality products too.

Though, John, I have to say that I understand someone trying to get as much information about your or any other products from users before contacting the supplier. There is a psycological barrier to break before contacting any supplier, in that you are fairly sure that you want the product before making that call, e-mail or whatever.

You of course think of yourself as a diver who happens to be able to make some useful products. To most other people, you are a manufacturer who also dives. I would say that it is that slight difference in 'identity' that makes you feel a little perturbed that a potentional buyer didn't come directly to you. You feel you are a knowledgeable diver - but 'they' feel you are a supplier.

I wouldn't take it to heart, as the sort of comments about your products round this forum, are going to pretty favourable from users, as you make good quality kit.
