| Compass Question All, Does anybody use these type as opposed to the standard SK6, SK7 etc.. I'm looking for something to fit inside my wetnotes rather than have one on my arm. ![]() Any recommendations and particular types I should avoid would be appreciated. Cheers, Ian

| So how would you quick reference your direction without consulting a team member? I think it would be a real PITA digging out your notes everytime you wanted to check direction TBH You sometimes see Silva compasses in wetnotes but these are generally used for surveying where a more accurate bearing is required.

| For inland sites I don't need a compass. Stoney, Gildy et al are no brainers. Diving on wrecks I wouldn't use a compass anyway. For the amount I use one I would rather it sit in a pocket comfortably rather than on my arm.

It's not that I'm mena but I'm trying to save the planet and "can you buy a spring only?". It actually worked quite well as the thing was tucked out of the way until the very rare occasion it was needed and ........ Well, I had one going unused!

| There isn't as much leeway in how far you can have a 'Silva' off level before it sticks, compared to something like an SK7. I suppose if you keep the bubble in the middle it would be ok.
