| If it's a plain nylon one then they fail in 2 ways, both of which are a PITA: 1. The end wears leving a "knobble" sticking out which snaps off and sticks in the bottom of the valve. 2. If it's nylon, it's not really O2 compatible and needs to be changed for a brass/PTFE one. The nylon swells and can stick on the threads and then needs drilling out. Bummer.

| Thanks all its now sorted. The failure was due to a manufacturing fault in the nylon that appears to be designed in?? In the bottom of the square slot is a drilled hole in the corner. Tightening up the valve causes an indent in the sealing face which then breaks through into the slot via this drilled hole The Nylon is so thin there you can see through it even on the new ones. I don't know if this is some sort of over pressure valve but it is IMHO a risk to the diver as he could undo the valve and start loosing gas through this fault. I cant understand why they would design in a failure point like this. Anybody got any ideas? ATB Mark Chase
