| If it's a metal zip, how about some limescale remover?

| However, You will find that a lot of the metal of the slider has corroded away. After two or three corrosion / cleaning cycles, the sliders will have become sufficiently weakened that they will snap, or the back of the slider will drop off, rendering the bag and the zips useless. <RANT> Why make zips on DIVE bags out of a material so specifically useless in wet salty environments? </R> Best advise is to put a kettle of hot water over the zips at the end of a trip to try to remove any trace of salt before the corrosion can start. Silicon spray might also help. David |
