| My new xerotherm arctics have arrived . I'm RIB diving tomorrow & want to use them. I'm trying to decide whether to use the same weight as usual (14Kg in the sea) or whether I will need more/less. Usual insulation: Outlast thermals & RoHo 200g 'thermocline' undersuit (= 200g thinsulate with outlast added) Planned insulation for tomorrow: Outlast thermals & xerotherm arctics. I have no idea whether xerotherms are more/less/similarly buoyant than a 200g bulky thinsulate undersuit. Can anyone help? Has anyone else made this change?

| I ended up with about the same weight when I made the same change as that. If anything there is only about a kg in it, so iwould keep with the same weigth to start with and then adjust it according to how you actually find it. enjoy.. Lou

| Ditto. Try the same weight first - especially if you are doing 'proper diving' and can't play around first.

| So funny you should post this PussyOwl as I've just got some xerotherm artics and was thinking of using them this weekend instead of the weezle. Thanks for the advise peeps.

I would have thought you will need very slightly less weight, the xerotherms are very thin. At this time of year I would not recommend using this instead of your other undersuit, but instead of you other base layer, as a thicker base layer under the 200g undersuit. Unless you are using a neoprene drysuit. |

| yup, dived last Sunday in just the Xerotherms under neoprene and i was too cold after 37 minute dive on M2 to do 2nd dive. My advice would be to use both at the moment, or stick to your previous "mobile duvet" if you know it will keep you warm! I reckon that the Xerotherm uses the same weight as my 200g Bear undersuit - believe it or not! Although much thinner, it seems to have the same bouyancy characteristics. I tried to drop 1kg, but found it hard work to hold 3M without shallow breathing. mind you, they are great if you sweat/get wet, as they still keep you warm!
