I suspect Woz is trying to be a tight fisted git rather than pay for 'marine' to be added to the cost

I have no real idea if this will work but a hunch that it might.

Go find a motorcycle breakers yard. Find a manly regulator/rectifier - Honda Superdream would be about right. Pay them a tenner. Photocopy the wiring diagram out a haynes manual. Connect the AC to teh alternator, all the +s to the +v of the battery, all the -s to an earth point.

Don't blame me if the battery goes bang showering you and the boat in H2SO4 though.
