Yep, the Nordic blue are expensive but bl**dy good. If it's good enough for a well known GUE Instructor with the amount of time he spends in the water then they were good enough to offer to our customers, quite a few of who now have them.

Cheers
Well I guess the only way to convince these up starts of just how good the RoLock system is is to publish a review right here on YD, eh Phil! Simple solution - send me a complimentary set and I'll get right on it...

Well, as I said at the start I have the RoLock system, currently with the yellow "wool" liners, but I'm sure as things cool down I'll be back for the Qualofil ones!

These have made a massive difference to my diving - I can contemplate diving mid-winter which I couldn't do in semi-dry/wet gloves (5mm Ti)

As Phill has said, they are very quick to get on and off - very, very quick indeed

They were a faff to set up, but I feel that £135 was good value, the gloves can be replaced for £3 if you get generic chemical protection gauntlets.

As for equalising - I put the liner glove on over my undersuit, then put my drysuit on, so the glove travels under the seal, the gloves then equalise freely.

In the event of a flood (such as when getting the initial setup correct as the Swenglish instructions aren't the best), you only have a wicking effect under the seal - not a catastrophic flood.

If anyone has any further questions, feel free.

Dry Gloves - gotta love 'em, BUT!!

I use a set of Si-tech dry gloves during the winter months, they work OK but are not without their problems, the rings are a little small for me as I have hands like miners' shovels and it has been known for me to pull the glove out of the ring.

The Ro-lock system, how does it compare to the Si-tech system?

I wear nice warm woollen gloves and put them on before my drysuit, if the glove leaks then you don't get too wet, bloody cold but not too wet. The advantage of wool of course is that even when wet it can still keep you warm, yeah right!

Truth is I'd not bother with dry-gloves but then I'd not be able to dive in winter, regular gloves? Forget it. Three fingered or mittens are OK but the later make it impossible to do just about anything.

Latex Wrist Seals and tape from

Drysuit Spare Parts

2 Part Glue from

Lomo UK Bostik 2402 & Mcnett wetsuit\drysuit adhesive\glue

2 Bottles of Magners from

http://www.asda.com

1. Drink Magners.

2. Cut gloves to desired length

3. Sand down outer surface of gloves and inners surface of seals (to allow glue to grip)

4. Talc magners bottles and stretch seals over it from neck to near end of base (2 inch), fold seals back on themselves about an inch. Stretch cut gloves over base to butt to seals.

5. Clean both surfaces to ensure no talc on them.

6. Coat both surfaces with mixed glue using small brush. Leave 35 - 40 mins to dry.

7. Give second coat of glue. Leave further 35 mins.

8. Give 3rd coat (optional). Leave 15 mins until glue doesnt stick to finger when touched.

9. Carefully fold over wrist seal to contact with gloves, rub them like buggery till any air spaces are forced out and surfaces are bonded together.

10. Cut tape to length and glue, also glue gloves over join with seals/gloves. Leave 30 mins and repeat, leave 20 mins then stick tape to gloves at join working round the glove as you go to leave a half inch overlap.

11. Leave gloves on bottles overnight, take off bottles and leave for about 5 days in a warm area to fully bond.

12. Go diving and marvel at your warm hands while wondering why you put up with wet gloves all these years.

I'll try and post a few pics of the pairs I made when I'm back from work. It's fairly easy to do (I managed it after all). Some folk might not want the hassle for the sake of about 20 quid, but I enjoy that kind of thing.

All veryt well for you lot with latex seals, but what about us poor neoprene cuff seal wearers?

Which Dry Gloves are best suited to these????????

Have worn dry, taped to cuffs in Arctic waters, but dedicated gloves would be better methinks.

My Seals are neoprene also, would I need to get them changed to latex prior to putting on dry gloves with ring lock?

Checpoint system works with latex or neoprene. Can be fitted with existing seal or with added latex seal to stop flood if glove rips. Mine cost initially 55UKP ~ replacement gloves are obviously much cheaper.
Used mine all last winter for durations of upto 1 hour.
I'll try and find a link and put it here later.

If you went for the self sealing gloves you could fit the latex seals under your neo seals. Not sure how the ring lock system would work with these.
