I have been getting a bit fed up with the fuel consumption of the Landrover recently and thought it was time to buy something sensible for my dive kit. I considered a Passat estate and other stuff and then found this....

Indeed - never thought that offering him a bed for the night would cost me so much....

Bloody rubbish. Great for lugging bales of straw round a farm, towing RIBs, loading up with dive gear but as an everyday car they're crap. Too agricultural. Better off with a 2.5TDi Passat Estate. Get the one with self-levelling suspension.

I prefer the Mitsubishi L200 series. Slightly more powerful and fuel consumption is not too disimilar (both in the low to mid 30s). The only problem with the Mitsubisihi is the price (Animal is about 21k IIRC)

Apparently not - John Gulliver gave it the seal of approval fro the ride down - said it was very comfortable indeed. John doesn't give praise lightly, you know!

It was a very nice looking car

Guess it all depends on how much kit you have to cart around? I get 52+mpg from my Diesel laguna hatch, carrying two divers with 6 single cylinders (15lts) and all our kit, but have to fold down the back seats.

Is the F-150 the smallest of the range?
