| For all those of you concerned people I can now announce that my new mask has arrived by registered post today, for a change it is blue. After 2 late nights in my shed I think I have perfected the ultimate automatic sinking mask retreval system, the exact details I shall keep a secret due to possible patent issues but basically: In the depths of my shed under the bench in a dark corner I uncovered an old world war 2 depth charge that I had forgotton about......like you do !! I carefully disarmed it using the instructions I found on an old James Bond video, which I played in slow motion to ensure I got it right. Unfortunately half way through my carefull disarming I realised the instructions on said video related to a nuclear missle and not my depth charge. So I then carefully disarmed it with a sledge hammer and big chisel, obviously I wore eye protection. I seperated the detenator which was convienietly sent to go off at 30 mtrs and gaffa taped it to a soda stream cartridge which I then in turn gaffa taped to my 25 kg lift bag. Once that was done I then gaffa taped the whole assembly to the bag of my mask strap. Now hey presto when my mask sinks and reaches 30 mtrs the retreval device will activate and it will return to the surface. Testing will take place this weekend, I will be using 36% nitrox mix which gives me a MOD of 27 mtrs, well within the devices working parameters. FOR SALE: WW2 depth charge - very dusty, slight chisel marks, less detenator. WANTED: Buddy for the weekend - must have good buoyancy skills particularly at the 28 to 29.9 mtr depth range, must also be prepared to test new equipment and sign disclaimers. would ideally suit single idiot types. |
